Eco Code

At Hounsdown School we will:

• Recycle or reuse items to reduce waste.
• Turn of electrical appliances when they are not being used.
• Switch off lights when leaving the room or if it is sunny.
• Make sure all waste is disposed of in the correct bin
• Save water by turning off taps when you have finished
• Buy environmentally products and materials.
• Recycle and compost as much food waste as possible from the Kitchens and from pupils at lunch and break.
• Reduce pollution by walking, cycling or using public transport to get to school whenever possible.
• Try and grow as much food as is possible on the school site.
• Support the work of our eco reps and try to earn Green Points for our tutor group.
• Respect the school site and care for wildlife areas.
