Eco Reps
The role of the Eco-schools Rep is a very important one in passing information to the tutor group about environmental issues but also in passing back ideas to the committee.
The role of the tutor group rep is to do the following:
- Represent the tutor group at Eco-schools meetings.
- Feedback information from the meetings to the tutor group.
- Propose ideas from the tutor group back to the meetings.
- Make sure the Green Points card and sheet “ How to get green points” is displayed in the tutor base.
- Encourage the tutor group to get involved in recycling and other activities which award green points.
- Collect any items for recycling and pass to the lead team.
- Make sure the tutor group is credited with the green points when it is earned.
- Make sure the switch off the light sign is stuck up near the light switch and encourage your tutor
and other pupils to switch off the light when the room is left empty. - Make sure you have a paper recycling bin in your tutor base and encourage others to use it.
- Set a good example yourself by volunteering and participating in green activities
